Analýza vychází z dat společnosti AURES Holdings a.s. a zahrnuje více než tři tisíce vozidel, u nichž byl hodnocen parametr State of Health (SoH) vypočítaný prostřednictvím nezávislé diagnostiky Aviloo.

Degradation analysis of traction batteries of used electric vehicles in Czechia, Slovakia and Poland

The rapid development of electromobility has increased the need for objective assessment of the technical condition of traction batteries, which typically represent the most expensive component of electric vehicles. While the condition of traction batteries in new vehicles is generally unproblematic and covered by the manufacturer's warranty, information on battery degradation has become an important factor influencing both vehicle value and purchasing decisions in the used vehicle market. This study aims to analyse the condition of traction batteries in battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) offered on the used vehicle market in the Czechia, Slovakia, and Poland, and to identify the main factors affecting their degradation.
The analysis is based on data provided by AURES Holdings a.s. and includes more than 3,000 vehicles whose State of Health (SoH) was evaluated using the independent AVILOO battery diagnostics. The results indicate that vehicle age is the most significant factor affecting traction battery condition, followed by vehicle mileage. The analysis also revealed different degradation patterns for BEVs and PHEVs.
The findings suggest that the actual degradation of traction batteries in used electric vehicles is, in most cases, lower than commonly perceived by the public. Furthermore, the results highlight the importance of independent battery diagnostics in improving transparency in the used vehicle market.
