Modern concrete and composites 2024: Successful conference attracted experts and students from all over the country
On 16 - 18. October 2024 took place at the Ski Hotel in Nové Město na Moravě Conference Modern concrete and composites 2024, which was attended by 150 delegates from the academic and industrial sphere. The event, focused on current trends in construction, new materials and technologies, offered a rich program for experts and students.
The first day of the conference was dedicated to young researchers within the student conference Modern concrete and composites 2024 junior. Students of building faculties presented the results of their dissertation here before an audience composed of experts and other students. In the competition for the best contribution, the participants chose the winners to whom they became Ing. Eliška Kafková from the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the Czech Technical University in Prague.
Location and names of winning works:
1st place: Ing. Eliška Kafková: Evaluation of shear strength at the interface of different types of concrete
2nd place: Ing. Karel Hurtig: Development of cement material for 3D printing
3rd place: Ing. Matěj Prudil: Study using neural networks for designing concrete recipes
In addition to the professional program, students and other participants could try shooting on biathlon targets during the afternoon of the first day, which contributed to a relaxed atmosphere. In the evening, he continued with an informal sitting, where each participant received his cartoon from the invited cartoonist, which received a great response.
The main meeting day of the conference took place on Thursday, October 17, when the conference was inaugurated by the Dean of the organizing Faculty of Civil Engineering in Prague prof. Ing. Jiří Máca, CSc.. During the day there were contributions about the latest trends in construction, the impact of climate change on building materials, reinforcements and new innovative materials.
Prof. Máca commented on the event: "I am very glad that compared to last year, the number of participants in the conference increased. The fact that most participants are representatives of practice. That concrete and composites will continue to believe that high -quality lectures were inspired for many and that they will be happy to come again at the conference next year. "
The conference ended with a gala social evening, during which it was also announced that the next year of this successful event will take place from 15 to 17. October 2025 again in Nové Město na Moravě.
