Surface Properties of Roads.

The section unites experts specializing in the measurement and evaluation of road surface properties. These encompass unevenness, texture, anti-skid attribues, noise levels and structural performance. Section members collaborate closely with the Road and Motorway Directorate of the Czech Republic, along with other administrators within the Public Administration of Roads, and actively engage in professional groups and technical committees. Annually, the section convenes discussions to showcase the latest insights and outcomes from ongoing research and development projects.

Program of Section Activities

  • Serving as the National Application Team (NAT) for EN and ISO standards, technical specifications, and other regulations proposed, discussed, and approved within CEN/TC 227/WG 5
  • Participation in the review of national regulations related to the subject matter.
  • Addressing data collection in connection with road management systems.
  • Endeavoring to establish national reference sections for the calibration of measurement instruments.
  • Supporting initiatives aimed at ensuring the precision of measurement devices in accordance with TP 207.
  • Representing the Czech Republic in the PIARC Technical Committee with road focus.
  • Sharing insights from research projects within the Czech Republic and on the international stage.
  • Collaborating with the Road Contractors Association, Directorate of Roads and Highways of the Czech Republic, and the Road database.
  • Engaging in publishing and presentation endeavors.
