Traffic Safety.

The purpose of the Traffic Safety Section is to increase the awareness of the professional public about the importance of safe transportation. The section’s activities are based on the fundamental principle of life protection and the health of all road users. This approach influences road planning, design, construction, maintenance, and operation. The section cooperates with the Ministry of Transport in determining and fulfilling the activities of the Action Plan of the BESIP Strategy 2021-2030, particularly focusing on the road infrastructure aspect. Furthermore, through articles for the Road Horizon magazine and the organization of professional lectures at events organized by the CSS, it provides up-to-date information about developments in the field. It primarily focuses on the development of road accidents in the Czech Republic, research at both national and international levels, and the updating of European and national regulations and standards related to the creation of safe road infrastructure.

Program činnosti odborné sekce

  • The section's core objective is to enhance awareness within the professional community about fostering a secure transportation environment. This is achieved through activities dedicated to promoting the importance of road safety. These activities are applied across road planning, design, construction, maintenance, and operation, all underpinned by the fundamental principle of safeguarding lives and the well-being of all road users.
  • Disseminating research findings from both national and international levels.
  • Communicating updates on European and national regulations and standards in the context of advancing safe road infrastructure.
  • Providing information about the development of road accidents in the Czech Republic.
  • Collaborating with the Ministry of Transport in realizing the objectives of the BESIP 2021-2030 Action Plan, with a specific emphasis on road infrastructure.
  • Producing articles for the Road Horizon magazine with focus on road safety.
  • Conducting professional lectures at CSS-organized events and cooperating with other conference and workshop organizers.
  • Maintaining regular updates on the section's website.
