On 4th - 7th. November 2024 took place in Andorra Council Meeting Piarc (World Road Association), where there was also a meeting of national comedians. The Czech Republic was represented by the 1st delegate of the Czech Republic Luděk Sosna, Chairman of the Czech National Committee (CNK) Václav Nevirt and Pavel Šušák, representative of the Czech Republic in Piarc. At the negotiations for the Czech Republic, they presented strategy and successful examples from the practice of the Czech road company, which were included in the program with great response.

One of the main points of the Czech presentation was the Young Roads project, focused on the involvement of young experts in the field of road infrastructure and strengthening cooperation with academic institutions. This project gained high recognition of all 129 Member States of Piarc for an innovative approach and effective connection of theory with practice. In this context, the Czech Republic also boasted a record number of experts involved in Piarc structures, which again strengthened its international reputation.

Furthermore, the meeting was presented by the conclusions from the World Road Congress 2023, which was evaluated as the "Congress of the Year" and "Inspiration of 2023" - award that reflects a high level of program and a positive impact on transport and infrastructure.

In addition to the main part of the program, Czech representatives participated in a number of bilateral negotiations with delegations from neighboring countries, where they agreed to cooperate in international projects and seminars. These negotiations significantly contributed to strengthening partnerships and the promise of developing other activities in mobility and transport infrastructure.

An important success for the Czech Republic was also the election part of the negotiations, when Václav Nevirt defended his place in the Executive Committee Piarc, the highest decision body of this organization, which has 25 members. This key position of the Czech Republic enables direct participation in strategic decision -making and planning of transport infrastructure at world level. We congratulate Václav Neuvirt for his success and believe that his role will be beneficial not only for the Czech but also the international transport sector.
