Conference on foot by the city 2025

Cities need courageous politicians and politicians who can visibly stand on the topic of safe and sustainable cities and turn them into a place friendly for everyday life.

Increasing safety, development of active mobility and public transport, support for social inclusion or local economy - these are their visions of transformation of urban mobility, which they have already turned into reality. But at the beginning of their journey, they did not always meet with success and acceptance. They had to deal with criticism, but also with the question of how to offer quality transport opportunities to all residents who can have different preferences and needs. How did they balance the necessary restrictions with new attractive and functional possibilities? And how did they communicate with the public about the topic? Despite the initial obstacles, they managed to successfully introduce many major changes in transforming city -wide mobility. The impact of these changes and the transformation of the public's approach today speaks for itself.

Conference objectives:

• Invite important politicians and politicians who have succeeded with projects of sustainable transformation of mobility in their metropolises.
• To acquaint the Czech political and professional public with functioning concepts and their impact.
• To present success and obstacles on their political paths, which eventually led to the adoption of "unpopular" measures by the public.
• Offer political know-how to make the necessary changes.
