Ever 85 years of Professor František Lehovec
Three years ago, our magazine reported on the departure of an important field of roads, a recognized university teacher, an important member of the professional road and, above all, a great person, Professor Ing. Františka Lehovce, CSc. Professor Lehovec died on June 13, 2018 at the age of 82.
The Czech Road Society commemorates the personality of the professor and his meritorious work in the popularization and development of the road in many professional events. Since the establishment of an independent Czech road company, Professor Lehovec was headed. He purposefully supported cooperation with Slovak colleagues, especially in the cooperation of the Czech Road Society and the Slovak Road Society. He paid attention to the cooperation of our experts in the World Road Association Piarc and was a coordinator of national reports for congresses organized by this association. He supported the idea of organizing the 27th World Congress AIPCR in Prague. It is a pity that he did not see the Congress in the autumn of 2023 in Prague after 52 years.
In the early 1990s, he managed to avert the threat of stopping our magazine and contributed significantly to its current professional and technical levels as chairman of the editorial board.
Professor Lehovec has been able to combine his hard work, performance demands and high quality of his own work and the work of his collaborators with a gentle and collegial approach to people. For Czech road workers, he was an example of a real professional, colleague and a good man.
