The article is dedicated to testing autonomous tram control in Pilsen and presents a processed methodology using dynamic HD maps and digital twin environment. It describes the technological and data solutions necessary for the equipment of rail vehicles and infrastructure for the purposes of autonomous mobility, especially in the field of sensorics, communication C-ITS and accurate mapping. To verify the functionality, a test section on a real tram network was created with sensory equipment of infrastructure and vehicle. The tests were under direct supervision of the tram driver with maximum safety. The article brings the current trends in geoinformatics and emphasizes the importance of HD MAP as a key element for the location and orientation of autonomous vehicles. It focuses on their role in ensuring interoperability of systems, dynamic data update and linking static maps with current transport information via digital twin.
