The article summarizes the proposed changes in the standard ČSN 73 6242 Designing and implementation of roadways on road bridges in the part related to the structural components of roadways on bridges and the proposed modification of the standard ČSN 73 6122 Construction of roads – Layers of cast asphalt – Implementation and compliance control and their effects on design, implementation and quality control. Attention is paid to the structural components of bridge pavements, especially three-layer and two-layer assemblies with a protective layer of cast asphalt, as well as parameters and testing of cast asphalt, working temperatures and quality control of the production and control of cast asphalt. The article also contains recommendations for designers and contractors in the area of designing and implementing roadways on bridges and the use of cast asphalt.

Bridge pavements and mastic asphalt, Design principles, standard changes and practical experience
The article summarizes the proposed amendments to the standard ČSN 73 6242 standard Design and construction of pavements on road bridges in the section concerning the structural composition of road pavements on bridges, as well as the proposed revisions to the standard ČSN 73 6122 Road building – Mastic asphalt – Construction and conformity assessment. Attention is given to the structural compositions of bridge pavements, particularly three-layer and two-layer systems with a protective mastic asphalt layer, as well as to the parameters and testing of mastic asphalts, working temperatures, and quality management in the production and inspection of mastic asphalts. The article also includes recommendations for designers and contractors regarding the design and implementation of bridge pavements and the use of mastic asphalts.
