The article analyzes the current state of road safety in the Czech Republic in the context of the continuous fulfillment of the objectives of the BESIP Strategy 2021–2030. In the middle of the implementation period (year 2025), the development of key indicators - the number of killed persons (24-hour definition) and seriously injured persons - is evaluated. In 2025, a historic minimum of 421 people were killed, but in cumulative terms for the period 2021-2025, the Czech Republic lags behind the trajectory predicted by the Strategy by 2%. In the area of severely injured persons, on the other hand, the cumulative value is 11% more favorable than the planned development. The article identifies problematic key safety indicators (KPI), regional disparities and specific risks of vulnerable road users. The final part connects analytical findings with specific activities of the Action Plan 2025–2026.

Serious consequences of traffic accidents in the Czech Republic in the context of the BESIP Strategy 2021–2030: ongoing evaluation and preventive interventions
This article analyzes the current state of road safety in the Czech Republic in the context of the ongoing implementation of the Road Safety Strategy 2021–2030. At the midpoint of the implementation period (2025), developments in the key indicators — the number of fatalities (24-hour definition) and seriously injured persons — are assessed. In 2025, a historic low of 421 fatalities was recorded. However, in cumulative terms for the period 2021–2025, the Czech Republic remains 2% behind the trajectory envisaged by the Strategy. Conversely, the cumulative number of seriously injured persons is 11% lower than planned. The paper identifies problematic key performance indicators (KPIs), regional disparities, and specific risks faced by vulnerable road users. The concluding section links the analytical findings with concrete measures included in the 2025–2026 Action Plan.
