The study focuses on the analysis of the relationships between traffic accidents, municipalities' expenditure on transport and their activities in the field of road safety (BESIP). The aim is to identify groups of municipalities with similar characteristics. Data dimensions were reduced using principal component analysis (PCA) and cluster analysis using the k-means method was subsequently applied. The result was the division of municipalities into seven different groups, which differ both in the intensity of traffic measures and investments, and in the rate of accidents. The categorization of municipalities makes it possible to better understand the differences between municipalities, reveal their strengths and weaknesses in the area of BESIP and offer a basis for more effective targeting of traffic safety policies.

Evaluation of the activities of municipalities at BESIP
The study focuses on analyzing the relationships between traffic accident rates, municipal transport expenditures, and their activities in the field of road safety. The aim is to identify groups of municipalities with similar characteristics. Principal Component Analysis (PCA) was used to reduce data dimensionality, followed by cluster analysis using the k-means method. As a result, municipalities were divided into seven distinct groups that differ in the intensity of transport measures and investments, as well as in accident rates. This categorization enables a better understanding of differences among municipalities, reveals their strengths and weaknesses in road safety, and provides a basis for more effective targeting of traffic safety policies.
